I don't know about any gyroscopic effects, but I agree that whatever
any of these effects are, you don't have to worry about them at the
table - they're very, very small. Let me respond to Ron's post in a
little more detail as to what I meant. It's already complicated enough
without trying to take into account any deviation of the ball's
angular momentum from the direction of its spin axis!
