Of course I prefer my gut feeling to what anybody says. Even if dave

ron did. I realize that.
However, his agreement does settle any doubt within myself that I
may have had on account of rsb. He could retract the entire paper
today for all I care. I know it existed, I effected it directly, and I
know that even the experts change their minds on this as time goes on.
I know which side of the fence I am on, and always have.
As for the actual number, I dont care about that either. Anything
real and more than zero is curve of some kind. You can barely see it,
its tiny. So the actual variable is not significant to me.
Maybe we can narrow down where we disagree, based on your statement on
the first paragraph above. IMO, there is only one way to approach these
questions, which is the scientific method. If you don't want to follow
that, you'll find few antagonists here. The scientific method is: "a
body of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge,
or correcting and integrating previous knowledge. It is based on
gathering observable, empirical and measurable evidence subject to
specific principles of reasoning. A scientific method consists of the
collection of data through observation and experimentation, and the
formulation and testing of hypotheses."
[quotes from wikipedia as of 18 jan 08]
I'd emphasize the last phrase, about formulation and testing of
hypotheses. Nobody has applied this standard to you, but it's time,
given your reluctance to follow any suggestions for documentation. From
now on, if you can't at least formulate, in plain english, an
hypothesis, I'm not interested.
"Scientific researchers propose hypotheses as explanations of phenomena,
and design experimental studies to test these hypotheses. These steps
must be repeatable in order to predict dependably any future results.
Theories that encompass wider domains of inquiry may bind many
hypotheses together in a coherent structure. This in turn may help form
new hypotheses or place groups of hypotheses into context.
"Among other facets shared by the various fields of inquiry is the
conviction that the process must be objective to reduce a biased
interpretation of the results. Another basic expectation is to document,
archive and share all data and methodology so it is available for
careful scrutiny by other scientists, thereby allowing other researchers
the opportunity to verify results by attempting to reproduce them."
So, that's the standard I (an individual) will apply to your future
posts on this topic. Post a hypothesis, or STFU. That's the standard
we would have applied to an accredited physicist much earlier, so don't
feel picked on; just the opposite. Learn the language of your
opponents, convince them why your language is better, or STFU. If you
can find some convincing reason why there's another option I'm
listening, but sceptical.
