Things I have noticed lately

I am on a journey of self improvement , Here lately I have been scarfing
up every video or book on the subject of my beloved sport of Pool and now
I believe due to all this stuff I find that I have really screwed myself
up but good , when I approach the table and get down to shoot I have all
this crap running thru my head and usually blow whatever shot I am
attempting . I have also noticed that little by little my game is changing
for the better but not progressing as fast as I wish it would !

TDodge : Didn't you have almost the same problem when you took the Simpson
Workshop ?

The Monk is going to be here Nov. 17th thru the 25th or 6th so I am also
going to get a chance to learn up close and personal and I am wondering
how long this stuff takes to gel in one's head and also one's game ?

The other nite I blew up and actually pitched my cue stick , twice. It was
childish and all I really accomplished was notching my cue in a hundred
places. I was missing so many straight in shots and cut shots like I have
never done before , And it was against an opponent that I usually
terrorize by stomping his arse but good.

I believe my misplaced anger was due mostly to personal reasons and not
really pool related at all
but it did provide me a venue to release my pent up anger. We had to also
play a make up match that same night with them and I then welded my next
opponent 4 - 0 in an almost flawless match ???

I have noticed that if I clear my mind of all distractions and apply my
best efforts I can run with the big dogs around here I just cant beat them
as many times as they beat me lol !On one hand I am seeing some
improvement and on the other I am seeing it fly away........

I also have noticed that for some reason I just cant concentrate on
command like I want to and when I try to force myself I usually fail to do
so horribly and end up quite conflicted.

In my VNEA league I am playing with a Master's Team ( I am team mascot and
water boy lol) and we are playing round robin again for the 1st time in
over 15 years and most of today's players have never heard of or played it
this way ever !I like playing every one on the team because I figure it
gives me 4 chances to win instead of getting welded 4 matches by the same
opponent and I find that refreshing When I play with these Master's the
most they expect out of me is a good ball count , The highest score a
player can get is a 32 ( 8 points per game ) and last nite we also had a
makeup to do and I got a 28 both matches to hold us up to win all 5 rounds
both matches ! A couple of our big big guns had a very bad nite (for them
!) One guy ran out on me or I would have had a 32 (dammmitt lol)

I play 2 nites APA , 1 nite VNEA , and i nite BCA , I don't like the APA
as much as I once did because they actually reward you for laying down , I
am a 4 shooter in the APA and could probably be a mid to low 5 , In the
BCA and Valley I am usually in the 7 thru 8 category and a sometimes 9 and
I love the feel of running and/or holding control of the table you are
rewarded for playing good in these leagues........................

In closing (finally heh) I decided to throw all of this out for your
consumption , I have more but will throw it out for you all later, And ,
I think once all of these videos and such wander thru my brain some of it
will stick and actually be more of a help than a hindrance it's just the
time in between that has me conflabergasterated ( Is that a word lol)
