I think you can distill all this Zen stuff into one word: RELAX. "You can't
know what you don't know." What I mean by that is there is relaxing, and
then there is relaxing. If you haven't experienced the "proper" amount of
relaxation in a stroke, then it is hard to know that your arm and body
really are relaxed. I think it can be hard to stay loose and hit the ball
firmly, for example, if you haven't worked on doing it.
I like the Zen stuff in theory, but I think you just have to relax and let
the cue do the work.
