Not at a opossum, anyway!

This one had been treed and he reached up to try to grab it. BTW, back then, this wasn't sport. The opossum was supposed to be dinner! Instead, the opossum got feed!

Believe it or not, I had the same experience with a squirrel my brother and I had cornered in a woodpile. He had his foot on him and said," pick it up by the tail". The rest, and the scars that remain on my right index finger to this day, is history.

Squirrels can hang on better with their teeth than a pit bull. I was making helicopters around my head with this bloody rodent on the end of my finger and he didn't let go until about the fifth rotation.

I can't really recall the cold beady eyes I usually describe when I'm telling this story. I can't even remember the story we came up with to explain my shredded finger. However, I will never, ever, EVER forget that you should not pick up a squirrel by the tail.

Not even if your big brother tells you to.

Stephen Nishio ---> and that rabbit in 'The Holy Grail' scared the shit outta me...
