I don't know why specifically but I imagine he didn't know about it or apply. If he did, well, Benny's getting up there in years. There are 3 Western Canadians in the IPT, none in this first tourney. Edwin Montel and Tyler Edey from Calgary and Stan Tourangeau(spelling?) from BC(?).
All three are fairly well known and have played in many Pro tourneys including the US open.

I suspect this is my best bet for seeing the tournament - sigh...

On a different note, one of Canada's best 8-ball player for years (if
not the best) has been Edmonton's Benny Onyschuk. Anyone know why he
didn't get an invitation?
