It's Official. This is the Worst NCAA Tournament Ever!

Hello, college basketball fans!

Can we have a team from the Big 10?

Can we have a team from the ACC?

Can we have a team from the Big East? I mean, there's only 16 of them!

Can we have ... a freakin' #1 seed????????? (never in the 64/65 team
bracket has that happened)

The ten best teams in the last 10 seasons:
Duke: 10/29/9/3/1
Kentucky: 10/27/7/2/1
Connecticut: 8/25/6/2/2
Arizona: 10/24/6/2/1
Michigan State: 9/23/6/4/1
North Carolina: 8/21/4/4/1
Kansas: 10/19/5/2/0
Maryland: 8/18/5/2/1
Illinois: 9/17/4/1/0
UCLA: 8/15/6/1/0

Only one made the Final Four, the tenth best team. Florida is #11. I'm
not even going to bother ranking the other two.

I mean, unless you are a fan of one of these teams do you even care
about who wins this tournament? I'm pretty sure this will be one of the
lowest ranked Final Fours ever without a Duke or a UConn or a Kentucky.
Last year's Illini would kick any of these four team's butts.

If you think I'm against the mid major, you're wrong. I would've loved
seeing Gonzaga in the Final Four (and no, I didn't pick them to make
it). I'd be happy seeing one of the MVC teams. If UNC Wilmington made
it, I'd be happy. Anyone but George Mason. I've already talked about
their dishonest AD and the "coincidence" they got to play just over 20
miles from home (maybe fair for a #1 seed but no way for a #11). I mean
their best known player is best known for ... punching out a Hofstra
player. Oh yeah, how far did Hofstra get in the NCAA's? The scary thing
is... GMU could win the tournament! I mean, which team absolutely will
not lose to George Mason?

Man, how do you Kentucky fans feel now? Not only did another SEC team
make the final four, two did! How does it feel being the third best
team in your conference? I'd rather be sixth or seventh in the ACC, Big
10, or Big East than third in the SEC. You know what the SEC is saying
now. Yeah, Kentucky, we don't need you. We're better than you. Tell you
what, SEC. The Big 10 will gladly take Kentucky from you. Talk to us in
ten years. The only time the rest of the SEC even cares about Kentucky
is when everyone else in the SEC is out of the NCAA's (which BTW
happens quite frequently). Oh, and we do allow you to storm the court
after a victory, unlike the No Fun League.

First Florida beats Penn State in the 1998 Citrus Bowl. Then Florida
beats my beloved Illini in 2000 to deny me a trip to see Illinois at
Syracuse in the Sweet 16 (OK, because of last year I had forgiven the
Gators for that one). But now they beat my local boys at Villanova. In
Philly, we've had Temple four times, St. Joe's in 2004, and now this.
And the best known Florida player is best known for his dad winning the
French Open tennis tournament. I'll add five points to your pool entry
if you can name who won the French Open ... last year.

LSU? Do they even know they have a basketball team down there? I mean
the last good player I remember from LSU is some fatso that can't even
sink a free throw. I will say no state in the US has had it worse than
Louisiana in the past year, so good for them.

Who's the favorite? Who cares? Would any of you pay $10 to see a game
between George Mason and Florida if it were in November? I think I'd
rather watch the Women's Final Four. Duke and UConn are still in it. So
is North Carolina. And Tennessee actually deserved a #2 seed. I take
that back, they deserved a #1 seed. I'd rather watch the French Open.
Have you ever seen Maria Sharapova???

I'll say something I never thought I would say. I wish Duke had made
the Final Four.

For those of you who have tickets to the Final Four, my condolences.
Maybe we can play this Final Four at Conseco. We'd still have empty
seats. Or how about moving it to Boise, Idaho?

For the rest of you, let's hope 2007 will be better. We know it can't
be worse. Let's get some honest people in the Selection Committee.
