I think you'd probably get a very small minority of people that your
theory would actually apply to, but not nearly enough to support a
team. I don't know if you've been to Vegas, but it's hot. Africa hot.
They'd have to have a domed stadium, first off. They're also going to
get killed by any big shows in town, that's a given. Most of the
tourists that go there are not going to go to games, they're there to
gamble and see shows and get hypnotised by the lights and glitter.
Vegas has sports teams and they're not setting any attendance records
and when the A's played a few games there a few years back they did
very poorly in attendence. I think MLB has to be doing some study right
now on whether it's feasible to put a team there and my guess would be
a big no. I think they'd actually do better in San Antonio (where
they're also looking) than they would in Vegas. SA has the Austin area
and all the suburbs, there isn't stuff to do there like you have in
Vegas. SA or Portland would be much better than Vegas.
