A bit off-topic, but there is some snow and
it happens in Nordic countries!
I was on a bicycle tour in Norway and Sweden in 2002
and still haven't "published" the story! I'd thought
I'd start by digitizing some of my 35 mm slides.
I've started with the "high" point of the tour, the day I climbed Gausta
(elev about 1900m) near Rjukan, Telemark. I started near Lake Tinn (200
m), cycled to the plateau (1100m) and then walked to the top. Gausta is
one of the most popular day hikes in Norway.
Gausta is indeed very nice, it seems you weren't lucky enough to get a nice clear day at the top, if/when you do, you can see major parts of southern Norway from there!

BTW, that climb is the final 10-15 km of the final marathon part of 'The Norseman', supposedly the worlds toughest full-distance triathlon.
