You don't get what's cool about 7000 feet of vertical completely off-
piste. Man, I don't think you should be called a skier.

"7000 feet of vertical completely off-piste" in fresh powder is nice,
but "7000 feet of vertical completely off-piste" in two feet of
completely cut-up is only/totally "work," not sure I care about that
that much. To me, a good skiing is where I can make good turns, not
where/what terrain might be looked "cool."

To me, a rewarding skiing is learning to make better turns in such
terrain. Completely cut-up used to be totally "work" to me; now it's
largely "pleasure" and much less "work".

A mountain streambed is irregular, unpredictable, never the same from
one foot to the next as it descends. An urban drainage ditch is
smooth, predictable and consistent. If you prefer the ditch, fine;
this leaves the mountain stream for others.
