Half right - my skis were caught in the branches and I was hanging
down.
The pictures were taken after I'd moved some. I wasn't in danger
of
suffocating, but it would have taken a longish time to extricate
myself
if I were alone.
I've fallen on very steep (45 deg? maybe more) and gotten my feet
twisted in what was left of trees in the avalanche zone. The snow was
firm and I think I'd still be hanging there were I not skiing with
friends. When my bindings were released it wasn't over. It was kind
of a free fall for a few yards until I tangled again in some more
trees to stop my fall.
