CLASC is still hanging in there. The usual troubles of attracting new
young members. When I joined in 1993 I was one of the "younger"
members at the age of 28. As of two years ago I was still one of the
club's "younger" members. There were a few younger than me, but not
many. Seems to be a problem for clubs around the country. I tried in
vain to recruit younger members at work but they weren't interested in
hanging out with people their parents' (or grandparents) age. That
said, CLASC is a great bunch of folks. If it weren't for the financial
issues, my wife and I would still be active. Have your boyfriend's
mother drop by the next happy hour and meet a few folks.
