What do you expect ?

I expect no end to the financial grief throughout our country. I expect the homeless to grow and the middle class to shrink.
I expect an almost complete failure to make good on promises to all segments of the community.
I expect higher taxation as the government attempts to do what was promised.
I expect what we've already seen, that the man that was so critical of spending by his opponents, will prove to be the most expensive President we've ever had. He's off to a good start.
I expect favoritism as he pays back all the rich and corrupt that provided the secret funding that led him to the White House.

So basically business as usual based on the last 8 years

I expect worse race relations than we've ever had before as the millions of poor black people that are counting on Barak to improve their lot discover that it's not going to happen without a change on their part. I'm sure it will be the white man's fault, or the Republican Party's fault, or maybe even George W. Bush's fault.

Well Bush has to take some blame for not responding to the economic crisis that had been looming

I fear even more. I fear that he may, after all, be nothing better than a shill for the Islamic world and that, in the end, we'll all be good Muslims, or dead Christians.

Why would he be a shill for the Islamic world? Isn't he a good Christian like all American Presidents so why would he want to change his religion?

So, I really hope Ben's right and I'm wrong, but I suspect that reality lies somewhere between.

Exactly the hard line Obama supporters will be disappointed that things don't go as well as they wanted and the hard-line anti Obama supporters will be disappointed that things aren't as bad as they predicted. This won't stop both sides ranting and raving as normal picking on tiny little things that if the Bush administration had done it would have drawn the opposite response.

Oh well good luck to Septic land for the next 4 years it's going to be a rocky ride for reasons other than having a democrat or a black President but as you say some will blame Bush some will blame Obama and there will be a modicum of truth in both PoVs

At least Lee still has his guns...for now.
