What you miss here, as a person that is either unable or unwilling to

teenage child - are not as easily controlled as you think.
Sure they are. We've drafted plenty of teenage children and sent them
off to die in foreign countries. Tell a Marine drill sergeant that 18-
year-olds are hard to control and I bet he'd laugh in your face.
I was unaware that the Palin girl was under military discipline.
My drill sergeants had a helluva time controlling us, but that wasn't the Marines and it was just after the new rules about abuse of recruits came in.
When did the Palin girl join the Marines?
Even Obama, who has kids of his own and a spotted childhood himself,
says the kids are off-limits.
Of course he says that. What he means is that, for him to keep the
high road, the kids are off-limits for him. Obviously he's not the
only one promoting his presidency. If you think 17-year-old girls are
hard to control, try controlling radical bloggers.
Unfortunately, Obama has no more control over his adolescent followers who choose the low road than Palin has over her randy son-in-law-to-be.
It's the internet leftwackazoids who, fearing that their candidate may
not be able to win on the issues, are desperately (and shamefully)
turning to attacks on a seventeen year old kid.
It's the right-wing wackazoids who promote a Creationist for a vice-
president in order to win the votes of wacko fundamentalists. Don't
tell me about wacko.
I listened to all that same crap when Kennedy was running. As it turned out, the masses were not as afraid of a Papist as the wackazoids were.
Unfortunately you can't just tell 25% of Americans that you can't
elect a Creationist as a vice-president because Creationists are
frickin' idiots. Why? Because 25% of Americans are idiot
Creationists.
Actually, it's a lot higher than that if ya believe the big bang theorists, a lot lower if ya believe the Democrats-created-the-earth theorists.
Statistics only support the idiots that create them.
There's simply no use running on "issues" when most of
the people have no clue about the issues other than what their
preachers and Rush tell them. Smoke and mirrors is how the
Republicans played it to get Bush in the White House for the past 8
years, so that's how Obama will have to play it now.
I've read the DNC platform, and there's no question that Obama is four more years of Bush, as you point out.
But people who know the issues only from their preachers and Rush are a pretty poor excuse for drinking the Kool-aid from the wackazoid bucket of nutty bloggers and Rangel.
Instead of a stream of slander, why not devote your energy to education about the issues.
It's a new low for you guys. Even Bush's kids were generally left out of
the fray.
That's because Bush's kids didn't get knocked up.
You sure about that?
And it's not "you guys". Palin was the one who came forward with the
news.
Only after it became an important issue to the Democrat muckrakers.
Since they haven't even disclosed the betrothed's name, it's hard to
know much about him. What we do know, for a fact, is that the kid was
dumb enough to knock up the governor's daughter. That ain't too
bright.
Or perhaps he's a fine young man who is in love and will do well by his marriage.
Not nearly as bad as the Democrats have been hoping for. GNP is still
growing, albeit slowly. 17 million folks have bought their first house
in the past 8 years, although predatory lending practices - fostered in
the Clinton years - has a million in default. I'm getting by, although
my portfolio - on which Obama wants to raise taxes - hasn't performed
the way it did in the post-Clinton boom. Unemployment is still low, even
here in SoFla where construction has come to a standstill as a result of
the Democrat's predictions of Armageddon.
Still watching that Fox News, huh?
No, mostly MSNBC. I'm going by the statistics put out by the Democrats.
The economy goes through cycles, always has, always will. The nice thing
about the panic at the bottom is that it presents great opportunity for
those of us in touch with reality. It's a great time to buy. I'm buying
stocks, the lovely Deborah is buying a house. I just worry that McCain
will get elected and regulate the financial industry that is paying for
Obama's campaign.
Good for you, you socked plenty of money away during the Clinton years
that you're able to survive Bush. For those who are starting out, who
don't have the money to buy stocks and houses, times are tougher than
ever. The wage gap has increased to an all-time high. More people
are in poverty. Inflation is driving food prices ever higher.\
Not only that, but there's a wave of hurricanes approaching Florida and big earthquakes in California have gotten eight years closer during the Bush years.
Times are always tough for some. That's why we have a president - to take the blame.
By virtue of participating in a particular federal program that
assists low wage earners to feed their children, I'm privy to the
average costs of basic food items that kids eat, refreshed on a two-
week basis. Compared to this time last year, milk is only up 4%.
That's the good news. Breakfast cereal costs about 20% more. Peanut
butter is up 15%. Beans are up 25%! Infant formula, up 15%. Fruit
juices, up 10%. Gerber baby cereal, up 15%.
By virtue of a degree in economics, I'm privy to the fact that short term statistics (gas down sharply, heating oil down sharply) don't mean ***. Except to the very excitable.
With wages actually
decreasing instead of increasing, it's obvious that food becomes an
ever greater part of the budget for poorer people. Add to that the
increased cost of gas at the pumps, necessary for those who have to
commute because they can't afford the cost of living near their places
of employment.
But it's the Democrats fighting conversion to natural gas vehicles. Yer gonna pay what yer friends in the oil patch tell ya to pay under Obama and the present Democrat congress.
Health care? Forget it.
Yup. Forget it. Under either party. No one has the balls to take on the Medicare beneficiaries, the unions, and the government workers simultaneously.
But Obama promises to shut down big employers and put their employees on the gov't payroll, so that will help a lot. If he can nationalize every industry, we'll all have gov't health benefits, and they're the best! So there's hope for your friends, vote for change.
But then Republicans are known for only caring about themselves, happy
to live in their gated communities while the masses starve and riot.
Enjoy it while you have it. I hope you have lots of guns like your
friend Lee for when the starving rioters come to crash the party.
I'm not too worried about starving rioters. Stuff like that takes place in California and Detroit where starving and rioting are a product of ultra-liberal policies.
And I do keep a few guns around in case ultra liberal policies overtake me here. When I riot, I don't want to be waving a stick against the gov't arms.
