One of the most important historical railroad sites in the world
(Cumbres & Toltec).

Unfortunately they don't open till late next month.

I was invited into the shop for a look, but it was too dark for pics.

It's a vacation of a lifetime for some- I'm just at work on a Monday
morning.

I've been on railroads in Md, Tn, Pa, Alaska, the Yukon, Sask, and now
Colorado, since last June.

Just in a week?

Thursday nite, I stopped in Breckenridge, Co, to have dinner with my
next door neighbors (now 4 families) of 40+ years- I get to see them
several times a year like the Dallas computer guy.

(I have (blood) family in three states, BTW)

Friday night I was dining with a scuba bud at P.F. Changs' in SLC- we
made plans to spend another week in the Keys (yes, Lee, I told her you
said hello :-).

Terrible job, eh?

Saturday, I cruised from SLC through MOAB and the canyons.

Sunday, I was in Durango and did this:

Another dream vacation to some- just another day at work for me.

Club car, 5 hr trip- $90.

As usual, I knew more about the history and facility of the railroad
than the tour guide- I answered questions the whole time.

I got a private tour after the trip, and took a minute to fix a minor
problem on their model railroad.

I discussed a job I could easily get repairing their locomotives (I
have an unusual base of applicable knowledge, and some minor
experience).

On Monday, as I pitied you another Dilbert day in the cubicle, I drove
off the Colorado Plateau and through the San Juans.

I'm in Fort Worth now.

Before the end of the week, with a little luck, I'll have dinner with
the Dave Brothers in Edmonton.
