Actually, I believe there was some limited conscription but I'm not
sure when it was. For the most part Canucks just went cuz it was the
right thing to do. Some may have gone for the adventure I suppose, but
I doubt it was for the money. Dad left a fledgling business but it was
still okay when he came home.
