Re: OT -- Bet the daughter's next boyfriend will be very respectful to the father

-I'm curious how your gun is going to protect you from the first
-example, being blown off the face of the map by a homemade bomb. Are
-you going to shoot the fuse off? I saw that in a movie once or twice.

All depends on how far the crime has progressed when I discover it, doesn't
it? The one thing that is sure, though. I've got a better chance of
stopping someone, in the process of blowing others up, with my gun than you
have without one.

-As for the rest, I don't see how your gun will protect you in most
-cases where the attacker is at all competent.

We know you don't see. You've made that abundantly clear. Go hire your own
protection. Quit trying to get the rest of us to pay for what you're
unwilling to do for yourself..

-If I swing a metal pipe at your head from behind you, for instance, do you
really believe
-you'll have time to get your gun out and shoot me before the pipe connects
with your head?

Want to give it a try? I'll bet my chances of success are better than those
of a trained, vetted and sworn police officer that's busy writing traffic
tickets.

-Since your gun is practically impotent in any situation where it might
matter, you should be just as afraid as me.

I am afraid of you. I'm afraid you'll manage to deny my Constitutional
rights. I'm afraid you will support, and get others to support changes that
will destroy the say of life my forefathers worked so hard to create. I'm
afraid that you, and others like you, will continue to expect me to pay for
protection you should be providing for yourself and I'm afraid you'll manage
to divert more of my money to support people here illegally, just so you can
get your yard cut, or your house built a little cheaper. I'm afraid that
when all the damage you, and others like you, is done, that an "Oops, guess
I was wrong" ain't gonna fix it.

As for being afraid of you with a pipe, not particularly. If you were the
type that would wield a pipe against those you fear, you'd be supporting the
right to keep and bear arms rather than trying to deny it to those scare you
simply by being willing to take responsibility for their own security.

If my gun is so impotent, what are you afraid of?
