More people carrying concealed weapons in Michigan. Fewer homocides and
violent crimes.

http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080106/NEWS06/80106...

The idiot reporter quotes John Lott, who's research has been long
discredited by legitimate scientists.

Classic cherry picking of the stats used but the article doesn't state
the there are fewer homicides. Learn how to read dimwit.

"The incidence of violent crime in Michigan in the six years since the
law went into effect has been, on average, below the rate of the
previous six years."

Note the use of "on average" but you're too stupid to understand why
it's there.

"The overall incidence of death from firearms, including suicide and
accidents, also has declined."

Note the limitations placed on the claim.

FBI UCR data for Michigan

1999 - Violent Crime rate - 574.9; Homicide rate - 7.0
2000 - Violent Crime rate - 555.0; Homicide rate - 6.7
2001 - Violent Crime rate - 554.7; Homicide rate - 6.7
2002 - Violent Crime rate - 540.3; Homicide rate - 6.7
2003 - Violent Crime rate - 511.0; Homicide rate - 6.1
2004 - Violent Crime rate - 490.2; Homicide rate - 6.4
2005 - Violent Crime rate - 552.0; Homicide rate - 6.1
2006 - Violent Crime rate - 562.0; Homicide rate - 7.1

The homicide rate is *above* the rate prior the enactment of the law.
The violent crime rate was already declining prior to the enactment of
the law, it declined for 5 years but has been rising for the past two
(and is expect to continue to rise in 2007).

Michigan is a state where violent crime and homicides have increased
in the years after the passage of a may issue CHL.

Gunhuggers like you will keep on demonstrating your ignorance.

Got a homicide rate of 57 for last year here, not too bad considering, they
must be missing some.
