That's a fairly recent change. The law used to be that anyone that can
legally enter Cuba, can bring back a certain amount of Cuban goods,
including cigars. I think the amount was $200 worth, but I've not had
change,to look for some time. You could not sell them even than. Since the
ifyou may not bring any Cuban tobacco products into the country and even
can'tyou acquired them legally, a gift from a Canadian, for example, you
somethinghave them here.
I don't know what the hell happened, but somebody got pissed about
and implemented a very strict policy revision.
And what really sucks is that you can't even buy the stuff in friendly
countries like Canada and Mexico and then bring it back. The
marijuana and cocaine and terrorist smugglers have no problem, but if
I want to bring back one genuine Cuban Montecristo from TJ, forget
about it.
Isn't freedom grand?
