When I traveled to Yap, the hotel warned us to keep anything remotely
valuable or even pretty to look locked up in the safe, not because
their housekeeping staff were dishonest, but because the Yapese don't

that it's not OK to "borrow" a guest's possessions without
permission. On the brighter side, they also don't understand why
