Try it and let us know.

No, it's the impression of security. While it's far from completely secure,
it both gives the public some confidence AND makes it a lot more likely that
someone attempting to thwart security won't succeed. As I've already said,
I beat security at one airport during a test. I would not, however, have
attempted to do so if it were not under the direct supervision and
observation of the head of security at that airport and, even then, I was
fully prepared to be very still and very cooperative if someong caught on to
what I was carrying. I was more than a little concerned someone would react
before I could explain.

So do things like metal detectors and explosive sniffers and alert personnel
(not a lot of them, but it only takes one).
It's funny how things can happen. When Jayna and I were returning from her
mother's funeral, she brought a living plant back with her. It never
occurred to us that the plant might be a problem. Let me tell you that bomb
sniffers have no problem at all detecting fertilizer in a hand carried
plant. If it had not been for her airport ID and my government badge, we'd
probably still be sitting at that airport.
