I like to think I have a fairly balanced view from having a fairly
diverse background. Many people are better informed than I am however.

Not wanting to split hairs, but I'm George. You certainly don't have to
care as long as you aren't trying to export your values. If you are
trying to export your values, you need to be exceeding well informed
and culturally aware to be successful. We quite like our values thank
you and in return I promise not to try to impose my values on you. When
in Rome or Ft. Lauderdale, I try to fit in. :)

Sure. There is always a double standard. Everyone has an opinion, and
none of this generation has had to fight to defend their opinion in a
domestic land war. I think the key is not trying to enforce your
standard on others.

Not at all. Everyone has an opinion, and my opinion is possibly less
ignorant than some as I've lived in seven countries and worked in
twenty-two. I have proven my ability to get along and influence change
in just about any culture you care to drop me into.

Certainly, but my only point is that *your* culture isn't ours. I
certainly won't pass judgement on your culture based on my experiences
as its 1. none of my business and 2. hard to understand to an outsider
and I'm liable to get it wrong. I love the States, I just don't want to
export it here in totality.

Because our two nations just about speak the same language confusion is
rife.

I'm not saying anything is deviant and hilarious in *your* context. It
can be weird and extreme when viewed in other contexts like mine. We
simply don't travel armed. Period. The only exception is hunting rifles
in hunting season. That obviously isn't any kind of condemnation of
what you do at home, just that it won't fly here. Different worlds and
you might find ours pretty tame and boring in comparison.

You perhaps may. Its simply a matter of good manners, something you
personally are pretty sensitive to in my experience.

As a matter of interest, have you ever been to the Left Bank? I love
Paris personally.

Cool.

Bring your truck across and come visit for a while. Just leave the hand
guns at home so I don't have to dig you out of jail! I suspect hauling
international loads might change your self defense practices quite a
bit.
