Since the govt. can make no law they can't even rescind the change in
the PoA since that would be making law. Two mistakes don't make one
right.

First, is that an admission that the 1954 PoA law was
a "mistake", impermissible under the 1st Amendment?

It's an admission that not being in from the beginning was an
oversight. God shows almost everywhere else in government
activity - money, prayer, profanity.

It was actually quite deliberate in Francis Bellamy's original wording.

Second, they don't have to make a law rescinding the
first one. Correct me if I'm wrong but surely all that
happens is that the Supreme Court declares the law
unconstitutional at which point it is void. No need for
Congress to do anything.

You're surely not suggesting that the Supreme Court
may not correct Congress's "mistakes"? Where in
the Constitution does it say that?

I note where the House has approved a resolution to prevent
the SCOTUS from acting in certain instances. How 'bout dem
apples? (I didn't read the article carefully)

What the SCOTUS has jurisdiction over is determined by
the constitution, not by Congressional acts. This is mere
election-year grandstanding.

I am to the point (almost) where I say, "Whatever works!". Elect right
wingers and stack the courts.

The question becomes, if you can't silence liberals, should they be
exterminated. Not to worry - we don't solve problems, we play with
them.

If we want to solve some problems, turn Israel loose!
