gutting it out for long prep run today

Well after doing almost nothing yesterday on purpose ( and somehow the
wife let me get away with it ? ) I did drag myself out for 4 hours
today.

First couple of hours were mostly on paved asphalt trail ( I put in
some changes to run on the grass and softer stuff when I could ) with
some modest climbs at several points. Felt fairly good not pushing
the pace whatsoever just dogging it. At 3 hours 10 minutes took a
break at nature center and ate a dark chocolate bar and took on some
water.

During the whole 4 hours I probably drank 24 ounces ( mostly water a
little propel ) ... temps were cool down in the low 60's and
overcast. I felt pretty good overall but starting to think that I am
not anywhere near ready to "race the 50k" as I was hoping.

This getting old isn't all that it is cracked up to be is it?
