running in the cold (eyeglasses)

As long as we have a winter running thread here, I thought it might be
worthwhile to repeat some advice from about 10 years ago, for those who
wear eyeglasses.
I found a thin layer of soap on the lenses helps control fogging. Here is
the method I use:
* Get a thumb or finger wet.
* Press wetted digit into a bar of soap. (You can also use liquid detergent
(from the kitchen or laundry).)
* Smear the lenses with the wet soap.
* Buff lenses with a tissue until you can see through the lenses.
Note: This works better on glass lenses than with plastic. But, it is
safer to run wearing plastic lenses -- especially in the winter, when there
is a danger of slipping on ice.
Note: This won't work with many of the modern cleansers. For example, the
stuff that foams when you dispense it will be ineffective. "Body wash",
lotions, and other formulations with aditives may be ineffective.
Note: Do not use soap with abrasive cleansers!
