Nah, I believe IBS affects the lower gut. No problems there; never
have been.
I've been fine for months now. But a few days before this happened, I
woke to a burning sensation from my stomach up into my throat. This
had happened before - routinely, regularly - it's acid reflux. That
I'm very familiar with. You can taste the acid in your throat and when
it happens while you're sound asleep, you wake up choking and coughing
on it. Not pleasant.
If that had not happened two days before this new chest pain, I would
be much more alarmed and already have gone to the ER. But I suspect
there's probably a connection. Maybe that bout of heartburn burned a
hole in my esophagus and now I'm in for another few months of hell
until it heals. Maybe it's not my heart that's having an attack but my
esophagus is spasming? I was hoping someone in this group had similar
experience.
