Sorry, I can't help directly, but Laurie's diagnosis was early winter
2002 to give you a time frame where to look. But just googling for her
as author and either "chemo" or "cancer" will get you a bunch of hits.
She was a nurse so also had contact with many folks with cancer.
I'm pissed at Laurie for her early exit. We were email close and I can
remember when she first had problems and like most people in the medical
profession, especially nurses, she waited many months, maybe a year
before she finally went to a doctor. It wasn't until she started having
problems while running that saw a doctor. By then, the cancer had spread
past the point of return.
So get your mammogram yearly(and don't let the HMO tell you you're too
young) and make sure you get a yearly physical to include a breast exam
for lumps.
