has anyone ever had a problem with the joint where their toe, possibly

i went to the book store and one book on running injuries gave a
treatment of having a shoe repair person glue something like a speed
bump on the bottom of one's shoe across the forefoot area so that the
toe is further away from the ground and doesn't take as much pressure
during push off. does that sound like a reasonable thing to try-
Go to a doctor.
Don't start messing around with homegrown shoe modifications - if you
don't know what you're doing, or you've misdiagnosed yourself, you can
end up making gait-altering changes that can throw your body out of
whack. Try to run on that and you'll soon feel much, much worse.
Go to a doctor, if for no other reason than to find out exactly what
the problem is. Then follow his advice (if you want), or don't.
