Jacque and I ran the first 38 miles near lock step in pace but only a
little side by side. We were never more than a potty break apart where we
would coincidently regroup at an aid station with the 30 second pause to
re-fuel. At 38 miles, and I *** you not, she took a shot of tequila in
her ginger ale and that was the last time I saw her.

Amazing! Gotta try that one. Maybe it has a good analgesic effect, along
with certain other properties...

With about 8 miles to go I got a sudden dose of legs cramps. With the
weather being so cool I had forgot to take an s!cap for many hours.

Yeah, get complacent about conditions and things catch up to you. It's
happened to me several times...

Apparently it wasn't his day. Anyway I took the lead and we slogged to the
finish. With a 1/2 to go is a nasty climb but only 250 yards or so. I
here them yell wait for us so I slowed to let then catch up so we could
finish together. Finishing 10-15 seconds faster would prove nothing after
a winter of training together - crossing together felt right.

Very sporting of you...

Sounds like you had a good time, and best of all, you have an excuse to lie
about and take a week or so off...

Don't know when I'll do my next 50. I want to get healthy, which may take
awhile (I haven't run for 7 days, most days off since I started in late
'78). Then plan is to go for some 50+ AG pr's from low to high... 5k thru
50k and maybe 50m.
