No HR %'s this week -- I need to get a new HRM sending unit battery,

Are you sure it's not just a bad belt-skin contact - either dirty or not
enough moisture? Mine goes through some weird gyrations sometimes,
although if it's going to stick at 0bpm, it's usually at the start.
Odd you should mention that... last night I opened up the battery to
check for possible moisture leakage into the unit -- all clean inside,
and the battery gave me voltage on the meter, so put back together,
washed the outside (dish soap, water, and toothbrush ! ) and as Chico
Marx would say Now sheeza worka real good. I always moisten unit and
self with water when I put it on. Never had *this* kind of contact
problem before. I do notice I get a "240" reading when I pass under
660V 3 phase power lines at times -- and there I am without my foil
hat, too!
My IR interface seems to be getting flaky lately and having trouble
downloading the exercises. It sees the # of exercises, but then chokes
before it actually starts the exercise data download. If it starts, it
usually finishes.
This is a very slow process of recovery. I am being as patient as I
can, . . . So while the walk/run/walk itself was malcoordinated
hell for over 50 minutes, in retrospect it takes on some merit beyond
its value as a step in athletic recovery of an old guy so recently on
crutches.
Well put.
I had a planned recovery week this week and combining about 5 inches new
snow with donating blood a couple days before, I just backed off and
explored a new trail, did some more xc skiing, another snowshoe hike,
etc. Watched the birds, wildlife signs, intense sun on incredibly white
snow (after all the dirty snow for the last couple months). A squirrel
came out to watch me remove some dead branches. The quiet down in one of
the bowls was almost deafening after the wind storms we've had. And the
temperatures are getting closer to +20F than to 0F for at least half the
day now.

Thanks Dot. By the way, the Saturday adventure included sighting (2)
Caspian Terns and (2) Red Knots that (I think) are heading your
direction on their way from Baja California or points even further
south. Ah, Spring! :-)
