I ran the 5k today with my husband. We had been up all night with a sick baby, woke up sick ourselves, and it was raining cats and dogs to boot. We parked about a mile from the starting line and jogged in, for our warmup. We were totally soaked by race time, but just as we were about to start, the sun came out. It was great! I came in 200/350, with a finish time of 32:07. This beats my treadmill time by at least a minute, plus there were a few hills on the course which I am not accustomed to running. I know I'll never be a speed demon, but it was gratifying just to be there and to finish... and not last! I was 16th in my age division, out of 43 people. A great day! Now I am going to stay home and nurse this sinus cold...
congratulations, determined, on a fine run! Sounds like you had fun. Rest up and get better.
