I guess that's good news. She gave me a cortisone shot put amy orthotic and ordered 0 running for 3 weeks.
metatarsal pad
That's the bad. What's puzzling to me is that she said I can swim or
bike but not use an elliptical machine. That's about all we have at
work except for treadmills. I don't see the problem as long as I keep
my feet flat and don't flex at the ball of my foot.
It's still weight bearing.
She seemed more concerned about flexing of the forefoot and pushing off
from the toes. I asked about walking and she said, "Do what you need to
do but not as exercise."
I have a ski machine at home but I assume she would ban me from that
also.
Most likely, for the same reason as the elliptical machine .
Sounds like your best bet is the bike but make sure you stay in the
saddle, i.e., no standing to pedal.
Well there's always pool jogging...what fun!
Food for thought, do you think your penchant for frequent racing might
be coming to haunt you?
Actually it first seemed to occurr on the Indian Ladder Trail, damn
rocks!
And it came back to stay for good after the next weekend after the 15k
on the same damn rocky trails (and x-treme downhills)!
You're focusing on fixing the problem which is important but do you or
she have any suspicions as to the cause?
Not positive as she's not sure if it's a nerve problem. An X-Ray
revealed that the bones of my second and third toes look much closer
together than normal which would explain aggravation of the nerve.

Looks like I might be back to brewing sooner than expected.
