Lichfield 10K

[snip]
... I felt tired at the start
to be honest , last weeks Half Marathon still bringing new aches and
pains the the fore - I was 2K in and I had such a pain in the arch of
my foot. I thought that if it got worse I'd just stop but if it stayed
the same I'd take it easy , by 3K it seemed to ease then to my horror I
noticed my shoelace was undone!! Many times before I'd laughed at those
I'd seen with loose shoelaces , "how could you be so unprepared!" -
very easy , I could have wept as I pulled up to tie the fastest
shoelace in the history of Staffordshire racing.

I feel your pain. You weren't the only person this weekend for whom
shoelaces were a problem.

First time ever as well!!

PB for 10K of 47.45 seemed very achievable after a few moments and I
realised I was in for a very good chance. In no time at all I was on
the line in a marvellous 45:53 - I was stunned and delighted , I had
approached the race with no expectations in fact physically unready but
had pulled a PB out of the hat with apparent ease.

Congratulations! Knocking 1:52 off a PB ain't too shabby.

Cheers - sorry about the weird spacing on the OP god knows what
happened there!

A great race, well organised in beautiful surroundings with plenty of
marshalls and unlimited water and bananas after - what could be better
on a sunny Sunday morning!!

Cheers,
Craig
