Excellent! Aquarunning would be fine, but it may not be convenient for
you (and it *is* boring...)

yeah, I don't like swimmingpools so it isn't convenient to me ;-p
biking is ok, and it's much easier to reach HRmax on a bike than on both feet (at least for a lazy guy like me...) so I do some sort of speed biking.

With some injuries it is sometimes possible to conduct training in a
Van Aakeenian manner: run for 70s at a slow enough pace that doesn't
hurt, walk for 30s; continue for 1h or longer; you'll be surprised by
how many kilometers of running you manage to log up and if you're
lucky, the leg gets stronger and you'll soon be able to run up to
350m/90s ands walk 50m/30s, and even if you're not, you'll still end up
back on the road no later than you would get by resting.

that might be a good way to recover indeed!

(Mind you, he advocates using the infield on a track or some such soft surface, which may not be so easy to find this time of year.)

I try to keep on dirt paths, avoiding roads.

I'll try to run a few miles this afternoon (didn't run since last saturday)

Since you're only one hour behind us, this probably comes too late, but

right, one hour too late ;-)

almost always the first few miles are a mile too long. I hope I'm wrong

that was the case last saturday...

this time, but the above kind of intermittent running would make for a
safer return to running.

can't tell you right now, but I seem to be ok!
I ran 6km, first 1k very slow (65%HR).
surprisingly it wasn't my leg that was the problem but the ankle. I felt some pain, but it seemed ok, so I ran another km and another one.
I then felt confident about running another 3km loop and seemingly, everything's fine, finished at 78%HR

BTW did you get to give the owner of the dog your "in your face"
opinion?:-)

yes I did, though I was probably too polite.
