Well it is nice to hear an opposite opinion on a coaster that was
pretty well slammed here a few weeks ago. I suspect the truth for ME,
lies somewhere in the middle, as both sides seem a little extreme to
me. I won't ride Renegade until next season (it will be well broken in
by then), but I suspect I will find a 'good' but not 'great' wooden
coaster. The above review might be a little bias, but I wouldn't no
more discount his opinion then I would anyone else that I don't know
personally

Man, for your sake, I truly hope that's how it ends up working out for
you.
Trust me, I would have *much* rather been able to have given it a
positive, or even lukewarm review, but there was no way either of us
(Tim nor myself) could - it simply didn't cut it. I didn't wake up
that morning with my day planner telling me I needed to post a
negative review - as many know who read my stuff, I *always* call them
*exactly* like I see them, and I always present what I say would be
cohesive and reasoned arguments and writing to back up my thoughts. I
never play "home park self defense syndrome" and I don't care about
being politically correct or pissing off some designer, park, or other
entity who gets revered for whatever reason in order to "protect" some
privilege or relationship I have with a park. I try to be an
independent voice that doesn't sugarcoat anything. As I said, I really
didn't want to have to slam it, but I have no choice. Renegade really
is that bad. At least it was for us. You and others may think I'm a
grand *** for saying so, but the reality is nothing saddened me,
and then pissed me off, more than seeing how weak that ride was. I
wanted so much more, and didn't get it. And ultimately, not all of us
can travel at will to every new park and coaster due to the expensive
nature of this hobby. I wish to HELL I had seen a realistic review
(instead of the sugar coated bull*** I got from TPR), because I much
rather would have enjoyed a second day in the Dells than waste my time
on Renegade, that's for sure. But at the time we went, there no such
reviews from people I could trust who could explain what the ride did
AND who had a credible background and posting history of being
straight up. Ultimately, that's what I look to TR's for - a gauge to
decide if a ride is worth travelling to.

Anyway, again, I hope you have better luck with it when you get up
there next year. I'll never be back, so I won't be reporting on it
ever again. Other fish in the sea, of far more interest, particularly
Kemah and also the contraption Fetterman is working on up at
Knoebels.....

I'm certainly not discounting your opinion. In fact, it helps give me
more reasonable expectations. The only point I was making was that
everyone looks for something different in a coaster, so what's lame
for you, may be exactly someone else's cup to tea. I can't tell you
how many awful reviews of Nitro I read before it became my #1 steelie
(even OVER the much hyped Superman). So it is possible to love
something that lots of other people hate.
