True, that's what we hear, but we don't know the exact numbers about who
owns what.

I don't care either way, it's outsourcing tourism to countries that give
nothing back to the USA. Like I said, if these other countries want to
give the USA something back in trade, or oil, then fine. But they
don't, it's all one way.

Agree that putting a Disney or Universal park in the UK would cut
tourism here to the states, but with air plane travel such a mess, the
UK deserves it.

Any profits of the parks go to the top CEOs of NBC and GE. The money
doesn't go back to the parks in form of new rides. CEOs at the top are
penny counting accountants who "take projects off the board." That's
what I heard on the Disboards for years. We'd get rumors of a new
project, and then hear it was "taken off the board" because of money.

Gee, if these parks overseas are doing so good, then why does Universal
have to keep "taking it off the board" so much. Only when attendance
drops is when they add something. That's why Universal is finally doing
something with the HP land. They're falling down the attendance stats
behind Disney and Sea World. IOA used to be 7th behind USF. Now
they're 9th on the top 10 with DCA and SWF passing them.

What is needed is NEW THRILL RIDES at the Orlando parks. BTTF refit
won't do it, that's the same simulator crap. HP land might bring a
bunch of people in if StrongArm is a cool ride.

But I'm still against all this outsourcing of American parks to foreign
lands, except for the UK.

All i know is the Tokyo Disney parks are owned by a co that Licenses
the rights form Disney. they are the ones who put up the money to
build the rides there, not Disney.

I, for one, am very excited about this.
However if some Americans dont want to come here because of the
dangers asociated with Dubai, Terrorists, lack of freedom, attacks on
Americans, etc, then I am sure it will be a slightly happier place.- Hide quoted text -

I don't believe there are any dangers I know of in Dubai for
Americans. Dubai to my knowledge is a safe country to visit. Terrorism
does not seem to be a problem there like with the rest of the Middle
East. I definately want to visit and possible move there especially if
they do happen to build a 500 foot tall $120 million airtime fill
coaster! :)
