Re: Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin dead

If you had read all of what Brian was commenting on, you might have a
different opinion.

John S. expressed the following opinion statements:

"It's called taking responsibility for ones choices as one grows up. "
<snips>

Brian then said, ostensibly in reference to the opinions stated:

"You have a right to your opinion as long as it's not made into law"

The logical conclusion of this is that Brian doesn't want to make
personal responsibility for anything, including rearing of children, a
legal requirement.

No No No and No Bruce. Your getting way off in left feild. For one, Steve
Irwin was not some irresponsable twit that left his family in need of care.
So the whole point of John and yours positions must be that you just don't
agree with his dangerous activites and you almost sound as if you would like
to ban them or any other dangerous activities that mankind pusues because of
your superior moral position and that is where my remarks are directly
focused.

Not too tough a leap. It is either that, or Brian
made a comment that applies ONLY to the last sentence...of course, we
all agree that people should be able to pursue whatever exploits they
enjoy, even when an element of danger is involved. On the other hand,
there are already some laws to prevent people from doing dangerous
things to themselves (drugs, sailing around the world in a rowboat
without Coast Guard approval, etc). so Brian's libertarian bent is
already not fully satisfied in practice.

I don't know what to say to this above, it's all over the place. Please
decode.
