Upon closer inspection (I put my glasses on) there are NO connectors inside
of the plug in the bottom 2 pin positions. Just 2 plastic holes with NOTHING
in them...

Jim,top
When the cord is connected does it cause the two upper prongs on the
male socket to break contact?? I assume this switches the power source
from internal to external source.
Is this "breaking contact" needed for AC power or just for external DC
power?
Thanks very much for the info.

I just did a simple check with my ohm meter and only the 2 pins at the

It appears that you can ignore the bottom 2. When I say the top 2, I
talking about the pins closest to the key.

I have a Sony Earth Orbiter missing the power cord. It has 4 pins on
the back panel socket and two prongs that look like they disconnect
when the cord is inserted.
Can anyone provide a lead on a replacement power cord or provide a
simple diagram of the connector so I can make one??
Thanks
.
