I remember hunting pheasant back in Wisconsin when I was a kid. The
fist time I went three of us were walking into the designated hunting
area. (Pen raised birds. some of em ya had to kick to get em to fly -
heheh.) So this bird takes off and the three of us get our guns up on
it and BOOM BOOM BOOM. It's feathers. So we seperate and a few
minutes later I got a bird sweeping across the field in front of me.
I raised my gun up, got on it, and got it good. There was a guy
standing right under it when I let the lead fly. He ducked - a smart
move.

The point here is that it is easy to get shot when you are hunting.
Forget about stupidity being a factor, because the part of your brain
that does your thinking and reasoning just isn't working anymore. You
are relying on instincts to get the gun on the bird and kill it. If
you never shot a game bird then you don't know what I'm talking about.
Perhaps a more experienced hunter would have some of these instincts
under control. I dunno. If you shot a BB gun out your bedroom window
and took out a crow off your neighbor's tv antenna then that was the
stupid part of your brain working. See?

Lead shot is outlawed in some places for some game. I would imagine
most bird now with steel shot.

I remember shooting 22 cal in junior high school as well. Them days
are gone for good.
