From what I understand they are nice scanners, a friend of mine had one andhe seemed to like it.
However if you need trunking or digital reception (APCO25), these scanners
will not do either.
You'd need to get a Uniden,Radio Shack, or the new GRE scanners.
Good luck.

Hi, I am looking for some advice, if anyone can help me, I would be very
grateful. I used to do a bit of scanning going back about 10 years ago and
now want to get back into it.
I have been advised that iCom produce very good quality receivers, and
having looked at them, they are in my price range (I havent won the
lottery
yet) the two I was looking at are both PC controlled, they are the
IC-PCR1500 and the IC-PCR2500. If anyone can tell me anything of their
experience with either of both of these sets, I would love to hear from
you.
I would also like to hear if you can tell me which one would be a better
buy. I dont want to pay more for bells and whistles that nobody ever uses.
Thank you in advance, I look forward very much to your replies.
John.
