Well I made another batch today. Using the same method, I ended up
with a grayish powder. I now believe that I didn't get enough charcoal
in that first batch using the 80 mesh. My scale shut down in the
middle of weighting and I think I messed up my weight. The rice hulls
I coated with that batch sure looked funny, The one I coated with
todays batch are nice and black. So lesson learn is, make sure you got
enough stuff ready or get a scale that doesn't shut down in 40
seconds. Thanks for info.
