So THAT's what made the pink "smoke" from the warning salutes 30 min.,
10 min., and 5 min. before the nightly fountain & fireworks show at
the 1964-5 World's Fair.
Rob! I was there! YES! 1964 also was the year pop-sci or pop-mech
printed the article on the Gruccis, showing (very roughly) how Italian
style shells were made.
I can remember being more facinated by the White Owl smoke ring-blowing
billboard than by any other machine or display there.
(it wasn't a bad magic show inside the White Owl pavillion, either)
