I have some Barium Nitrate that I would like to put to good use.
Ideally, I would like to make a simplegreenflashwith a report (if
that's possible).
In testing it unconfined, I get somegreenflame when the fuse first
ignites a 50-40-10 mixture of Ba(NO3)coated 400 mesh Al and sulfur.
Maybe the cannon fuse coating is acting as a Cl donor? As the powder
continues to burn I no longer see anygreencolor just white. My
mixture also burns too slow, but I have not experimented with
proportions and have not wanted to waste my German dark Al.
I thought about buying some fine mesh PVC to use in place of sulfur,
but decided to ask the people on this forum before making arbitrary
mixtures that could be worthless and/or dangerous.
Jockamo,
For the purposes of this subject, I'll assume you're familiar withflashand its properties ... especially those properties that come to
bear when mishandled?
Then try this: At the top of my browser page there's a blank space
with the label "Search this group." Typegreenflashinto that blank
space (wherever it's located on your screen) and let your research
begin.

Thanks Tom C. I should have searched the topic. I did indeed find a
few posts.
