How do you turn off the "Tabs" feature in Microsoft Explored, since it
make the older posts on the neewsrgoups nearly impossible to read or
to reply?
Harry C.
Harry, tabs only allow you to have multiple web pages open in a single
instantiation of Explorer, rather than requiring you to have multiple
instances running at once. They have NOTHING to do with the view while
working in a particular tab.
If your view is restricted in a way that makes it hard to read old posts
(maybe you could explain that), then adjust the view.

Lloyd, the problem vanished when I re-booted my Beta computer, but
what I saw original was older posts in a thread gradually dimishing in
size and readability and a whole series of tabs across the top of the
screen, I contacted Microsoft, they sent me an update, and the problem
vanished after I re-booted. (Just to share with you, I have 5
computers here on the net. Alpha is the top dog and the primariy
machine, Beta is the testing platform and Gamma is the server and
DARPA/Limewire host.) The other two machines are my wife's laptop and
her desktop, and if you are married you know "woe unto anyone who
messes in any with her machines. To do so would be bad, very bad!
The deal with Beta is that it is sort of a Microsoft beta test
platform, and sometimes the test software is wonderful, and sometimes
it is off-the-wall. This time it was truly off-the-wall, and when I
went on line this morning using Beta, I ran into some very unexpected
and strange results, which Microsoftquickly corrected. (Lloyd, you've
worked in software, so you know how the game is played.) Beta rims
24/7 to receive and process updates, and sometime when using it you
get a bit of a surprise, like this morning.
Lloyd to you and yours, and to other readers, have a Happy Easter, but
without going off the deep end, please remember what Easter is all
about.
Harry C.
