copper carbonate Vs copper oxide chlorate blue

I have two formulas, one calls for copper II oxide and the other for
copper carbonate.
I don't have copper carbonate and would like to know if I can use
copper oxide instead. The formula I'm referring to is the second one
(slower burning). Can the two copper compounds can be interchanged
1:1? Do the other compunds in the formula need modification if a
substitution is made?
The two formulas are from ladykate's websight :
1. (Blue, Faster burning) Potassium chlorate 66.5, Red gum 9.9, Cupric
Oxide 13.4, Parlon 5.4, SGRS 4.8.
2. (Blue, Slower burning) Potassium chlorate 60.8, Red gum 9.0, Copper
carbonate 12.3, Parlon 13.1, SGRS 4.8
.
