Thats one good point! But I have had my Dell for about a year with
Macafee, and no probs yet. (knock on wood; preferably willow).
We gave up on McAfee when their virus "protection" software got infected
with a virus _on_their_site_, which got delivered by an "update" (hah!)
to every customer machine running that version.
Also, with McAfee, one of our (now-ex) receptionists brought in a virus
or piece of other malware about once a week, due to her maliciously
careless handling of unknown emails.
We've had zero-zip-nada hits on our office network since installing
Norton on all the machines.
