How much does a display like that cost?
This display has about $3000 worth of actual fireworks. But the
firing system, racks, and other equipment is worth about $15K.
Also, does the team ever 'rehearse' the display before competition? Or is it only simmed?
In the case of our 2005 and 2006 entries, we did the first run at the
CrackerJacks Club's Class C Competition. This allowed us to perfect
the timing of the displays. For 2007, we had personal issues that
prevented that opportunity. So, we did not get a dry run.
At this point, we do not sim any of the shows. The software that
allows that is prohibitively expensive. So the real trick is to
visualize it in our heads, then on paper and create a script and map
from that.
