I am slowly drying out a brand new eight pound (8 lbs) batch of potassiumKClO3-molecular-weight-122-white-crystalline-solid-not-very-soluble-in-water
chlorate,
-and-good-oxidizer that it is.
Due to the fine grain this batch was precipitated as, the stuff retained a
lot of the liquor's color, even having been recrystallized. The color is
slightly green/yellow, probably from a few parts per billion of chromate.
This shouldn't affect flame purity. Just in case, I'll post the new test
when it's dry.
The going rate is $7/lb plus shipping.
BTW, the post office certainly does accept the stuff under ORM/D. I sent
the last batch (a bit over 4 lbs) to another poster almost two weeks ago,
and as far as I know it hasn't arrived yet. Hope it didn't get lost.
Anyone know it ORM/D usually takes a while? I think I'll get at least a
tracking number next time.
