cross match vs primeing slurry

Hello All,

This is my first post on rec.pyro. Thanks to all who have contributed
the wealth of information that is available on this newsgroup. I have
been able to learn much and clarify things for myself simply by using
the search option so thanks again.

I have made many tubes over the winter to use as inserts in some 5"
shells and I now realize that I will be unable to cross-match the
interior portion of my time fuse without much difficulty. No need to
get into particulars here other than "I have painted myself in a
corner pyro-style".

My question is this: Will a generouse dab of slurry on the interior
portion of the time fuse be sufficient for igniting a relatively slow
burning flash (70/30 using 14 micron sperical)? I can cross-match the
exterior as per-usual; it's just the interior that I am worried about.
I have a feeling that when I test this that I may have iginition
problems and may have to add sulfer to overcome this.

Because I am new, here is a little bit of my background: I have been
shooting shows for 11 years and have been a PGI member for 10. I have
attended various classes at the conventions and have various books and
videos. My passion is multi-break construction and show design.

I thank anyone who takes the time to respond with their thoughts and
recommendations.
