DO you just press a rocket on regular BP tools, and just skip adding

Donald Josar re-stirred interest in this several years ago. You can
use a variety of spindles but a straight BP spindle (like you get from
Gret, or Rich or Skylighter or FIrefox) works. Press very hot powder
but without the clay.

The result is a motor with a very high thrust that lasts just a
fraction of a second (much shorter than a normal motor). Given that
curve, you can imagine that one good use for it is to lift heavier
loads - which it does remarkably well. Here is a 5/8" motor (again, a
video that I've posted before) lifting a total of about 1/2 pound.
Note that height is not a problem:http://www.wichitabuggywhip.com/fireworks/rockets/nozzleless5eighths.wmv
Got a small box shipment this week.
Top layer was bubble wrap, the rest was rice hulls for packing.
They had also dropped 2# of willow air float in a baggy!
That was one sweet surprise.
Only BP I've made is pine and paulownia.
310 grams of paulownia air float fills 3/4 of a large coffee can.
For volume it looks about the same as 2# of willow.
Does air float settle?
Anyway a buddy is due knee surgery Mon. and I'm gonna give him a pound
of the willow to play with.
He's already getting his path to shed lined for wheelchair.
I would love to watch him wheeling that chair with a lit fuse!!!
But then he has a girl friend that looks like Kate.
He can sit on porch and watch her run.
Arcadenospam, I thought of Saving Private Ryan when you said about
saving a bit of each type of powder with different coals.
I've been reading Shimizu's FAST and love it.
Good day all.
Dan
I would love to try this!

How is the thrust compared to a regular BP rocket with a nozzle?- Hide quoted text -
